“Hampshire County Council is pleased and excited to support a
project within Hamble Community Sports College which uses a portion of the Local Authority-retained Harnessing Technology Grant.
The College is working with ‘SchoolsICT.com’, a company which specialises in developing links between Moodle (the open source learning platform) and SIMS (the Local Authority-supplied Management Information System).
As Moodle is the most popular Learning Platform in use by Hampshire Secondary Schools we hope that this development will reach out to many schools beyond Hamble. While this is being funded from the LA-retained grant we are always open to supporting projects where schools can lead or collaborate on developments that can benefit schools across the authority. We therefore hope this will be the first of many collaborations between schools and the Local Authority and we look forward to seeing the solutions developed as part of this project being used in Hampshire schools in the future.
In working with a school and specialist commercial provider we hope that we can provide financial support to enable innovation in the most efficient way.” Daniel Fearnley – Business Manager, Children’s Services, Education ICT, Hampshire County Council
